Using Alternative Energy to Save Money and The Environment

I am sure by now almost everybody has heard of using alternative energy and knows that there are many benefits in doing so. One form of alternative energy is solar power. Solar power obviously uses the sun as its energy source. Because the sun is always there, this source of energy is infinite. It is also a source of energy that is organic. The same goes for wind power. Wind is an organic source of energy that is never-ending. As long as the planet is still here, and we don't kill it first from pollution, the wind will always be a major part of our weather. Solar power and wind power are an alternative to fossil fuels and are largely distributed, very plentiful, renewable, clean and emit no emissions into the air which causes the Greenhouse Effect.

Solar power and wind power are not new ideas. In fact this source of energy has been around for years. Big companies across the globe have already been harnessing this natural energy for many reasons. Large wind farms have been providing utility companies with energy for years and solar panels are more prevalent than you think. Construction companies have been using solar panels at job sites to help power equipment where there is no source of electricity, and solar panels have been in calculators for a long time also. However, the concept of normal everyday people using these sources of energy is a relatively new concept. A lot of people have heard of using these energy sources, but feel overwhelmed as far as how to utilize it themselves. There are many reasons why you should incorporate the use of alternative energy but I will give you the top 2 reasons:

• Save money. By switching to solar or wind power or both, you will save a lot of money on your utility bills indefinitely. When you install solar panels or a wind turbine, you will be producing your own energy and using less energy if any at all from the power company. Thus, your electric bills will be reduced if not eliminated for good. Furthermore, depending on the amount of solar panels and the size of the wind turbine you install, you can actually generate a surplus of energy that the electric company will then pay you for! That means that you will actually have a small passive income every month from the money they are paying you and the money you are saving. It is not uncommon to put 300 dollars in your pocket every month.

• The other reason is saving the environment. As previously mentioned, fossil fuels cause greenhouse gas emissions which are harmful to our environment and have been responsible for the Greenhouse Effect, acid rain, respiratory problems, global warming and pollution in general to name a few. With the installation of solar panels and wind turbines, you will be producing clean energy that does not pollute.

So start living green and save money while doing so. There is no reason not to as alternative energy is an easy do it yourself project. You can very easily build both solar panels and wind turbines. Lets all do our part in saving our planet and using what mother nature herself provides everyday naturally.
